Funeral Planning

Fr. Jim and Fr. Mike meet with the family of the deceased to plan the funeral liturgy. Families are given the opportunity to personalize the Mass by selecting readings and music that may have been special to their loved one or reflect their personality. Family members and/or friends of the deceased also have the opportunity to proclaim the readings/prayers of the faithful and present the gifts. This is a time for the family to grieve in a comforting atmosphere and to put closure to their loss.

Hospital/Nursing Home Visitations
St. Francis and St. Clare Parish's outreach to the sick and homebound consists of:
Nursing homes

Monthly mass is celebrated at both Huntington Nursing Home (2:30 p.m. 3rd Thursday) and Seneca Nursing Home (2:15 p.m., 4th Thursday). Communion Services are celebrated monthly at both facilities (Huntington-1st Wednesday, 2:30 p.m.; Seneca-2nd Thursday, 10:15 a.m.). The Catholic Daughters recite the Rosary on the 4th Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Seneca with the residents and also help with bingo on the 1st Wednesday at 2:15 p.m.

Hospital

Visitations occur weekly and when a call is made to one of the priests through the Parish Office. We appreciate a call when someone in your family requires hospitalization so that we can bring them the sacraments.

Homebound

There are several parishioners who take Holy Communion to the homebound weekly or as desired. The parish maintains a database of the homebound parishioners and their assigned visitors. When a family member can no longer get to church, please call the Parish Office at (315) 651-4349 or (315) 539-2944 to help us keep our file updated on our homebound list.
